Music Lessons
Lynn O'Connell has been instructing music students for 40 years privately in her home studio and at Cape Fear Academy, St. Mary's Catholic School, New Horizons Elementary School, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Baldwin-Wallace College, Merrywood College, and Central Piedmont Community College. She is well known as a classroom vocal music instructor, music director, accompanist and choral director, and has trained thousands of vocalists at numerous public and private schools. Many of her students have gone on to become Broadway stars, professional musicians, and music instructors.
Vocal Lessons are structured to fit the needs of each individual student, from beginner to advanced. They include vocal exercises, vocal technique, development of healthy vocal use in singing and speaking, breath control work, and music coaching. Lynn encourages and develops live stage experience and provides many performance outlets.
Piano Lessons are taught from beginner to advanced and include music theory, scale and technique work, and all styles of music. Vocal students are encouraged to study piano to better comprehend music theory.
Guitar and Ukulele Lessons from beginner to intermediate include learning to read music, music theory, and chordal accompaniment.
